Florida man pleads guilty to manslaughter in Brunswick girlfriend’s death

The Florida man who was to stand trial for murder in the shooting death of his live-in girlfriend will serve 28 years in prison after pleading guilty to manslaughter, according to the district attorney.

38 -year old Jermaine Javon Thomas (pictured) was charged with shooting 33-year-old Casey Nicole Mitchell after a fight at their mobile home on Blythe Island in April 2014. The couple lived with Mitchell’s four children.
