Tyler Perry’s mother, Willie Maxine Perry, died Tuesday. She was 64 years of age.

Perry said that his mother was very loving and provided the inspiration for his famous character, Madea. Ms. Perry was a pre-school teacher and worked at the New Orleans Jewish Community Center.
