Gospel star Hezekiah Walker spent his Sunday in Atlanta to sing a song with a 9 year-old boy who found comfort in his lyrics during a frightening ordeal.
Last week, Willie Myrick was walking his dog at around 8 o’clock in front of his home when he spotted money on the ground near a tree. As soon as he picked it up, the youngster was snatched by a man and put into the back of a car.
Kidnapped and frightened, the child was told to “shut up” after he resorted to singing Hezekiah Walker’s song Every Praise. The song contains the lyrics “God is my Savior, God is my Healer, God is my Deliverer, Yes He is”. After about three hours, the child was let out of the vehicle unharmed.
He knocked on several doors and was finally let in by an elderly man. The child called home and was taken to a hospital where he was confirmed to be in good health.
On Sunday, Walker was in the congregation of the child’s church listening to him share his story.
Walker told media: “It’s just emotional to me because you never know who you’re going to touch. I just wanted to hug [Willie] and tell him I love him. I really believe that God spoke through me to save that young man’s life.”
