excutedThe men behind two notorious crimes in Florida and Georgia have been executed within hours of each other.

Florida executed John Ruthell Henry, 63 on Wednesday.

Henry (pictured left) was convicted in the 1985
stabbing death of his wife Suzanne in 1985. Just hours after killing her, he
fatally stabbed her five year-old son as well.

Just one year before the double deaths, Henry had been released from
jail after serving eight years in another murder.

In 1976, Henry had pleaded no contest to second-degree murder in the
death of his then wife Patricia. He served eight years in jail for that crime.

It is said before his death, he asked for forgiveness and apologized.

At 11:56 pm, the night before, Marcus Wellons, 59, was put to death by lethal injection at the state prison in Jackson, Georgia.

Wellons was convicted of sexually assaulting and murdering 15 year-old India Roberts in 1993. The teen was waiting for her school bus and lived in the same townhouse complex Wellons was moving out of.

“I ask and hope that you will find peace with my death,” he told her family. His final words were: “I’m going home to be with Jesus.”

In Missouri, at 12:05am, John Winfield died by lethal injection.

In 1996, he shot the mother of two of his children Carmelita Donald after she began dating another man.

He confronted her outside her apartment while her two friends Arthea
Sanders and Shawnee Murphy were there . . Winfield shot all three women in the head. Donald survived but was left blind. Her friends were killed.
