On Monday 25th, the College of Coastal Georgia will host one of Brunswick’s sons who has gone off into the world, made a success on and off the field and is now focused on inspiring motivating and contributing to his hometown community, especially as it relates to young men.

Coincidently, Dr. Alvin S. Perry is returning from his new home in New Jersey, in the aftermath of several horrific crimes which have shocked the community. Two shooting incidents recently resulted in victims being sent to hospital and tragically, one resulted in the death of a 13 month-old. With revelations that criminals of these violent crimes are as young as 14 years old, Dr. Perry’s message of “Keep Your Feet Moving” is timely and topical.

Three Men Sought After Brunswick Shooting

Investigations continue into an armed robbery which left a Hispanic male in hospital and police searching for three black suspects. According to reports, on Monday, March 11th, 2013 at approximately 7:11P.M. officers of the Brunswick Police Department responded to 1708 Norwich Street in reference to a shooting.

Brunswick NAACP Installs New Officers

Brunswick NAACP’s President Dr. John Perry and Vice President Ron Stokely

The  NAACP officially began a new era in it’s Brunswick  branch, as elected officers were publicly sworn into office last week.  The installation ceremony was held on Sunday, March 10th at the Zion Baptist Church where the guest speaker was Rev. Antony Walk.

The installation charge  was give to Officers and Executive Board by the former President C A Lee. The charge was followed up by the

passing the torch of leadership to Dr. John Davis Perry II the newly installed president of the local branch.

President Swears In For Second Term Using Bible That Belonged To First Lady’s Grandparents

Today, in two separate, private ceremonies, President Obama and Vice President Biden were officially sworn into office, marking the start of the second term.
