When one talks of Pearl Harbour, they think only of the sailors and the ships. Arnetta Jackson, as a young lady pregnant, a brother in the Navy and other male family members who were also in the military, remembers it well. She remembers the fear that came over her with a baby due in two to three weeks and the prayers she sent up, concerned about her brother and the blimps. That fear manifested itself and drove her into labor. Her daughter, Evelyn, was born the very next day – December 8. She did not wish to wait another day and neither did her mother. She was living in Brunswick, a Navy area with ships being built and pregnant She will always remember Pearl Harbour.
